Over The Hill
A few weeks ago I bought Billy Blanks Amped--the whole kit and kaboodle. I was so excited because I had done a lot a Tae Bo when VHS was still popular and I think I had most of his workouts. That was then. Amped is now. What a disappointment. Fortunately, I found it in a local store on sale at a ridiculously low price so I don't feel I wasted too much money. He does have some good moves and it keeps my workouts motivating when I mix and match with others such as Turbo Jam, Hip Hop Abs or Kettle bells.
I just wasn't that impressed with how he delivered his workouts this time around. The bar was nice but he moves too fast for me sometimes and I don't like feeling like I'm falling behind. Well, I'm over 60, what can I say?
This is the one I bought.

Fitness Counts
I'm a fitness freak! I believe everyone should do something physical at least 15 minutes a day for the sake of their own health. Lots of illness could be avoided or lessened simply by getting up off the couch and walking. I guess I'm an advocate of exercise because my own body tells me if I don't move I'm going to stiffen and get sore. Exercise actually keeps me from hurting more than I would from degenerative disc disease and arthritis. I can always tell when I have gotten lazy! But I love a good DVD to exercise with. I don't want yoga because I can't bend into a pretzel at my age. I don't want to just walk in place. That gets boring. No, give me something with challenge in it and I'll rise up and do it.
For example, Hip Hop Abs for when I feel like dancing. These exercises focus on the abdominal area. You don't do one sit-up but you sure do work those muscles! I honestly believe these are more effective than sit-ups. Because I've had major back surgery I can't do a regular sit-up so these are ideal for people with bad backs.
Try one or get the whole set. Never boring, always challenging, always fun.

OOOOOOOOOO! I Can't Wait! I Can't Wait! I Can't Wait!
I've been thinking about ordering this for a few weeks and I kept looking at it and reading the reviews here and on another website and saw it was cheaper here, so I went and ordered it here. OOOOOOOOO! I can't wait to get this DVD. I love kettlebells! I have a lot of The Firm's workouts before DVD (yes, I'm that old!) and I know they are well done, well cued, well instructed and I know I'll just love this because it's with a kettlebell. Nothing beats a kettlebell workout and I've done just about all the workouts out there. This DVD comes with a 5 lb. kettlebell, but when a workout gets "easy", I just pick up a heavier kettlebell.
I'd like one of each color, please!

Russian Kettlebells
I know I've talked about this subject before, but I just can't say enought about Russian Kettlebell workouts. I truly believe I've become addicted to them. I've worked out with them 5 times this week and here it is Friday afternoon and I can't wait to get home to get swingin'! My next workout purchase is going to be The Extreme Kettlebell Workout or may the Russian KB Challenge. I can't decide. Maybe I'll get both!
They don't have a pic of the other one, but I do know it's a little cheaper than this one. Kettlebells give the advantage of cardio, strengthening and conditioning all in one workout, so you don't really have to work longer, just smarter!

It Just Keeps Getting Better!
Just when I thought I'd gotten the best kettlebell workout possible, I ordered Kettlebell Bootcamp by Angie Miller. It just keeps getting better and better. There are 8 workouts on this DVD. I haven't done them all yet, but I've gotten up to 5! And they are tough, but FUN. Exercise used to be just down-right boring to me. All those repetitous ups and downs, side to sides, over and over again. No wonder I have so many videos of so many different types of workouts. I just couldn't find the "right" one for me. Now I have and I just can't say enough good stuff about kettlebells.
